Camping at Lake Biwa

OK, so we set off after I finishedwork, so we got to Makino station (North-West of Lake Biwa) at around 8.30pm. It was pitch black, the office was closed, but we pitched out tent anyway. Scott decided immediately it was time for the camp fire. So off he went in search of unsuspecting logs, pinecones and other materials.

Well good job there was a camp fire as my attempts at lighting the BBQ failed and we had to do a make-shift one on the fire.

Unfortunately not all gyoza (and millipedes) were lucky. Then came the s'mores (my first time) graham crackers, melted choc and melted marshmallows, oishii!!

Sorry no pics of me, but the only one taken, I ended up looking like a boy in Scotts shirt!

So when we woke up in the morning we could actually see the campsite n the beautiful lake with mountains thrown in.

And this was the view first thing 7.30am when I opened the tent.

I remember camping. It was a lot of fun. I made a fire like a real man would.
